Circuit Guide:
Taking place on Saturday, 14 March 2015, the Formula E Miami ePrix is set along the coast of Biscayne Bay incorporating the backdrop of the city skyline. At 2.17km and featuring eight corners, the temporary street circuit has been produced by leading track design company Ayesa. The track boasts a number of long straights and 90-degree corners, with a unique pitline mid-way round the lap at turn six. In addition the track is located in the heart of Downtown Miami, making its way underneath the MacArthur Causeway and around the AmericanAirlines Arena, the home of NBA basketball team Miami Heat.
Driver’s guide:
Franck Montagny, Andretti Formula E:
“Miami is a magic city – anything can happen there! It is one of the places that you hoped Formula E would go to for a race when the calendar was announced. We can expect a very good event there because, looking at the track, there will be quite a few long straights and slow corners so this will help for overtaking for sure. Turns 1, 2 and 3 will be the tricky part of the circuit where we shall have to look after the car and be careful of contact, for example. It looks as though we shall be able to attack at turns 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and in to 1 – these are the corners to make some moves on. Overall, and compared to some of the other tracks, Miami looks really very good and interesting for both the drivers and the fans. It will be a fast, exciting race in a fast, exciting city and definitely something nice to discover.”
